I found this hotel several years ago and could get a room because I always booked near to my arrival date until last year. The hotel is in an excellent location, in Plaka, where you want to be while in Athens. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is quite good. Its is very near all the good restaurants and bouzukias in Plaka, a few minutes, literally, from the Acropolis, Monasteraki, Syntagma, Ermou shopping street. I will definitely stay there in my next and any other stay in Athens, either for business or pleasure. It is just the very best value for money and it is not a 5 star hotel, which you don´t need if you have all the wonderful restaurants and entertainment just a few steps away.

Athens is a very friendly city and for the most part clean and safe. Most people speak some english. The city has great history. As for our hotel ( Hermes Hotel) its location is within walking distance to the Acropolis, Museums, many historical ruins, great places to eat ( authentic greek food) and shopping. Also very close to public tranportion ( eg: subway, busses etc.)

we stayed in this hotel for just one night. We were very impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of all the staff we encountered. They even got us breakfast when we had missed the breakfast hours as we had slept in. Great location near a bustling street with lots of shops and restaurants. Guests can also use the bar at the roof terrace of their sister hotel (Plaka) which has amazing views of the Acropolis all lit up in the evenings, and once again, excellent staff. Thoroughly recommended.

We are currently staying here and love our patio. The hotel is quiet (can´t hear other guests), air conditioner is soundless, and it´s located minutes walk away from everything. We needed a new hair dryer and it was brought up immediately. We asked for extra pillows when the very kind concierge asked at breakfast if we needed anything and as soon as we got back to our room it was there! We are spending every evening at the sister hotel, Plaka, on their rooftop for the acropolis view and a nightcap. Their view cant be beat. rooftop from here has an acropolis view but its a little obscured by another building. I even love the Fred and Wilma beds!

Not only was this hotel clean, comfortable, reasonably priced and well-located near the Plaka and Syntagma Square/metro, their employees were honest enough to return hundreds of Euros and the passports we´d accidentally left in our safe. Thank you, Hotel Hermes!

We paid just about 80 Euros in a location very close to the Acropolis and the other ancient sites, in a very nice and clean room. Extraordinary was the effort of the people of the hotel to make our stay as nice as possible: At the first breakfast personal tips for visits, entrance times etc. VEry nice

I loved this little hotel nestled at the foot of the Acropolis, a short walking distance to many restaurants and the old Agora. The staff is wonderful and they directed us to their sister hotel, the Hotel Plaka, for a sunset drink on the rooftop bar which we did both nights of our stay. Breakfast was very good.
